About me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in treating insomnia using a short-term, evidence-based therapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia). I also have experience working with adults of all ages on a variety of challenges, including life transitions and adjustments, managing anxiety and depression, and recovering from trauma.

I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, where I provided various types of individual and group therapy for clients in hospitals and community clinics. As a researcher, I co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in my field, as well as secured grant funding through the National Institutes of Health. I moved to Providence, Rhode Island where I completed my pre-doctoral clinical internship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and later specialized in the treatment of trauma-related disorders during my postdoctoral fellowship. Most of my clinical career has been working with Veterans in the VA's Post Deployment & Readjustment Program, helping Veterans adjust to the many stressors and changes that come with life post-military or deployment -- including fixing sleep! I also serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior through Brown University, supervising the next generation of clinical psychologists.

My clinical approach leans on cognitive-behavioral treatments, and is deeply rooted in acceptance- and mindfulness-based therapies. Working with me, you can expect a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach, with a smattering of metaphors, and ultimately -- improved quality of sleep!
